Today’s Five minute Friday word is {rest}

Rest has been far and in between lately! Between my husband traveling a lot and being in charge of everything and beyond, it's not often that I find rest.

There are to types of rest for me, physical rest and emotional rest - both equally important as I have learned for many years in therapy.

When I look for physical rest, my favorite thing to do is to lay on the small couch under the window in the sunspots and write. I also find rest in taking a long drive with the music loud, and just me and road. I dont get enough "sleep" but I try and find as much "rest" as I can.

Emotional rest is probably the most difficult for me. I work extremely hard in my healing, and finding emotional rest is probably something I struggle with finding.

When I do find emotional rest, I write, read, reach out to my support, connect and talk.

My therapist and I played a game last Friday called "memory" using wisdom filled words, and for me that felt like a soft place to land in my emotional rest. it wasn't the same hard work day in and day out in therapy, I took rest while still healing playing a fun game to connect.

I also find emotional rest in going to church, siting in my favorite pew, and just handing over to God all the burdens I carry  - so that I can rest.

Rest is not an easy thing to come by, but I know it's equally important to find both physical and emotional rest, for me it's especially important going forward in my healing and towards me and my path.
