Today’s Five minute Friday word is {Home}

8 years ago I moved to Georgia from my home state New Hampshire to relocate for my husbands company.

At first I thought it was the end of the world; moving away from a place I have been all my life. I was home-sick for months and didn't know how I could live a life outside anything I was used to.

What I didn't realize when moving away from home - is that I would find a whole new life outside of the bubble life I lived in. I always thought that NH was my home, but in real, home is where you are happy; where you find peace and healing.

Being in NH my whole life around my family, I wasn't able to get outside of the life I had, in order to see the life I could live.

When I moved down here to Georgia I lost weight from the heart condition that caused me to gain weight. I got fit and worked out with a personal trainer and became very involved in weight lifting and making fitness a part of my life - something I never did back in NH.

I then moved into the emotional healing and found my wonderful therapist to where I would find healing in so many ways I never thought possible. Therapy has changed my life on so many levels, and I have found a therapist that God has chosen to walk this path with - and here I am 6 years and still healing on this amazing path.

I met some new friends; people I thought I could never become close to because I thought my family back home was the only friends I could possibly have.

I found my church home and became Catholic; something I have wanted to do since I was a little girl but was too stuck in life I had in the bubble to make that happen.

My husband and I bought a home and we convalidated our 21 years of marriage in the catholic church.

What I have come to learn in these 8 years  - This is where my home is - right here, right now in the place of healing, love, connection, friends, and GOD.

Yes I have family up north, yes I am from New Hampshire and that is where my roots are, but HOME doesn't necessarily mean a place you have been your whole life, it's about where you find yourself - that is where Home is.
