Today’s Five minute Friday word is {Grateful}

{Start}

being grateful is a huge part of who I am. When I saw that the 5 minute Friday word was grateful, I smiled, because I knew just how easy it would be to write about gratefulness!

Looking back on the life I had, the one thing that I managed to hold onto since I was a child is realizing gratefulness. I didn't have the things that most people had as a child so it made me extremely grateful for the things I did have.

Today gratefulness and being grateful is a part of me, and sometimes believe it or not it can be a blessing and a curse. I sometimes let my gratefulness get in the way of my needs and my feelings. I tend to put other people and their feelings first because of how grateful I am for others.

I think it's so important to express gratefulness! I think for me telling someone how grateful I am is just as important as being grateful. I think its so important to shows those who we are grateful for, because not only is it a feeling within us, but we are connecting to someone giving them that same feeling.

This past year has been challenging for me on so many levels around my health and I have REALLY had to lean on a lot of my support and take that risk in accepting support, care and love. I am SO grateful for those who have really stood by my side through it all and still walking with me through it.

I am grateful for my husband and my kids for really giving me the space needed to move through this hard year. I am so grateful for them, they are my life and my soul and I couldn't get up every morning without their love and support.

I know I say this a lot, but someone who I am VERY grateful for is my therapist! he is not just a therapist, he is someone who has a heart filled with caring and giving! He has REALLY stepped up and helped me through this very tough couple of months that I have gone through and without him and his wisdom, I don't think I could have leaned on my other support the way I do. I am so grateful and blessed for him and who he is.

God gave us gratefulness and I think its up to us to apply that to everything in our lives that we should be grateful for. Its an important process of life and I think when we are grateful and express that gratefulness, God smiles.
